Privacy Policy

DidYouClipThat is a program you install and run on your own computer. It turns a long stream into short vertical clips and, when you approve one, posts it to accounts you have connected yourself. This policy explains what it does with information, and it is short because the program is built so that very little information ever leaves your machine.

The operator is Anze Kos, an individual based in Slovenia, reachable at anzekos11@gmail.com. The same person answers support and privacy requests.

1. There is no DidYouClipThat account and no server

You do not register, and there is nothing to log in to. The program runs locally and serves its review page at a local address on your own computer, which is not reachable from the internet. No usage data, no telemetry and no crash reports are sent anywhere.

2. What is stored on your computer

  • The stream you pointed the program at, its audio, the transcript made from that audio, and the clips rendered from it.
  • The profile you wrote for a streamer: hashtags, caption style, which accounts to post to.
  • Access tokens for the accounts you connected, in the program's own secretsfolder. For TikTok this is the token TikTok issued after you logged in on TikTok's own page, plus the username and the privacy settings your account allows, which the review page shows so you know which account is connected.
  • A local log of what the program did, so a failed step can be explained.

All of it sits in the program's folder. Deleting that folder deletes everything. Nothing in it is copied elsewhere by the program.

3. What leaves your computer, and when

  • Downloading the stream. The program fetches the video you asked for from the platform that hosts it, YouTube or Kick. That request is like any other visit to that platform.
  • Connecting an account. You are sent to TikTok's own login page, or Google's, in your browser. Your password is typed there and is never seen by this program. The platform returns an access token to the program.
  • Posting a clip. When and only when you press Approve, the mp4 file of that clip and its caption are uploaded to the accounts enabled in that profile: TikTok through its Content Posting API, YouTube as a Short if you turned that on. TikTok's own privacy policy then applies to what you posted there.
  • Choosing the moments. The transcript text of the stream you are clipping is sent to Anthropic's Claude, through the Claude subscription on your own machine, so it can pick the strongest moments. It receives the text, never the video, and never anything about your TikTok account.

Nothing else is transmitted. There is no third party analytics, advertising or profiling.

4. TikTok permissions and why each is needed

  • user.info.basic so the review page can show which account is connected, and read whether that account is currently allowed to post publicly.
  • video.upload so an approved clip can be sent to TikTok.
  • video.publish so that upload can be posted to your account with the caption you saw on the clip.

Nothing is requested for reading your feed, your followers or anyone else's content, because none of that is used.

5. Keeping and deleting

Files stay until you delete them. The program deletes the large source video by itself once a video is finished, to save disk space, and keeps the clips. You can delete any video, its clips and its transcript from the review page at any time, or delete the whole folder.

To cut off account access: in TikTok, open Settings, then Security and permissions, then Manage app permissions, and remove DidYouClipThat. The equivalent for Google is the Third party apps page of your Google account. Deleting the token file in the program'ssecrets folder has the same practical effect on your machine.

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection. In practice the operator holds no copy of your data, so a request is usually answered by pointing at the file on your own machine. Where the operator does hold something, for example an email you sent, write to anzekos11@gmail.com and it will be handled within 30 days. You may also complain to the Slovenian Information Commissioner.

7. Children

The program is not intended for anyone under 13, and TikTok's own minimum age applies to any account you connect.

8. This website

This site is static. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads nothing from third party servers; the fonts are served from this domain. Your visit is not tracked. The hosting provider, Cloudflare, keeps short lived technical logs of requests as any web host does.

9. Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it and the previous wording is replaced on this page. Material changes to what is collected or transmitted will be stated plainly here rather than folded into the text.
